01 | The Renwick at Central Park West | Irvine CA | Mixed-Use Podium

Brief: The Renwick at Central Park West combines residential, office, and retail in Lennar’s urban high density mixed-use development.  The two four-story buildings each contain two on podium courtyards, designed as passive communal spaces incorporating elements of fire, water, and sculpture.  The buildings are joined by a ground level retail plaza also designed as fire lane access. 

Role: Project Manager, project team meetings, concept, design and detail development  of courtyard sculpture, site material selection, courtyard plant selection, courtyard grading plans, managed design development and construction document production, client project marketing boards. 

Challenges: On podium design required creative design initiatives and constant coordination with Structural/MEP Engineers and Architect.  The high profile location of the project at the corner of two major cross-streets and was held under close scrutiny by city and community officials.
