04 | Dynasty Plaza | Los Angeles CA | Conceptual Analysis
Brief: Dynasty Plaza is a 25-acre multi-level commercial center focused around a design concept that celebrates the “Journey of Life”. The concept is manifested by creating a connection of people oriented spaces using design elements portraying change, vibrancy, contrasts, discovery, and fun. The “journey” is an experience of multiple senses, each affected differently as one travels through the project.
Role: Part of the design concept charrette team which developed all programming and “Big Idea” concepts. Designed and produced conceptual analysis booklet for client presentation. Wrote the design intent and LEED specifications for the Environmental Impact Report.
Challenges: Dynasty Plaza seeks LEED silver accreditation incorporating sustainable elements such as vertical planting and porous paving alternatives into highly exposed urban areas which required creative approaches to ensure their effectiveness as well as aesthetic implementation.
